Hello! I’m Haych. I am an ABTC-registered Dog Trainer (ATI), Animal Behaviour Technician (ABT) and APBC-registered Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist, based in Brighton, East Sussex, with a specialism in dogs. I offer training and behavioural assessments/follow-up sessions on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays each week. I offer in-person and remote consultations. I am based in Woodingdean, East Sussex.
I practice ethical, force-free, non-aversive training techniques, and am overseen by the ABTC and PACTs code of conduct. I am also a member of the APBC.
I believe in a Dog Centric Approach. I will meet you and your dog where you are at on the day. I work holistically and try to make the sessions accessible and comprehensible for everyone involved. We all learn at a different pace, and I will prioritise you and your dogs' welfare at all times. I aim to help strengthen the bond between you and give you and your dog agency on what and how we learn. We'll work together!
What I can help with:
- Pre and post adoption support and advice, specific to overseas rescues
- Problems related to over-excitement/excessive arousal
- Aggression/reactivity issues
- Aggression/threats towards unfamiliar people (excluding vet)
- Aggression/ threats towards familiar people
- Aggression/ threats towards unfamiliar dogs
- Owner-absent related problems
- Repetitive Behaviours (spinning, tail chasing)
- Apparent fearful or phobic behaviour (non-aggressive)
- Problems related to training, attention-seeking, or apparent excessive arousal
This includes:
- Designing and implementing procedures to safeguard against the development of problem behaviours
- Designing a training and behaviour modification plan for the client
- Collaborating with your vet to achieve the best outcomes for your small furry
Please note: I will not work with anyone who uses prong, spray or shock/e-collars, and/or verbal/physical punishment.
